140. Before the 2nd Word had been spoken there was no room for the Bacabob. Not until the Sun had securely left the horizon in the east could string games be resumed.

... string games could be resumed after it was clear that the Sun had managed to leave the horizon and was rapidly gaining in altitude: 'Before the sun starts to leave the horizon ... when it shows only on the horizon, ... then string games were no longer allowed as they might lacerate the sun. Once the sun had started to go higher and could be seen in its entirety, string games could be resumed, if one so wished. So the restriction on playing string games was only applicable during the period between the sun's return and its rising fully above the horizon ...

... Among the multitude of gods worshipped by these people [the Maya] were four whom they called by the name Bacab. These were, they say, four brothers placed by God when he created the world at its four corners to sustain the heavens lest they fall . . In the ms. Ritual of the Bacabs, the cantul kuob [the suffix '-ob' indicates plural], cantul bacabob, the four gods, the four bacabs, occur constantly in the incantations, with the four colors, four directions, and their various names and offices ...

In April 25 (115) at midnight the Chorti diviners were raising their square sky:

... Later on in this series of rituals, the Chorti go through a ceremony they call raising the sky. This ritual takes place at midnight on the twenty-fifth of April and continues each night until the rains arrive. In this ceremony two diviners and their wives sit on benches so that they occupy the corner positions of the cosmic square. They take their seats in the same order as the stones were placed, with the men on the eastern side and the women on the west. The ritual actions of sitting down and lifting upward are done with great precision and care, because they are directly related to the actions done by the gods at Creation. The people represent the gods of the four corners and the clouds that cover the earth. As they rise from their seats, they metaphorically lift the sky. If their lifting motion is uneven, the rains will be irregular and harmful ...

Half a year later, we could expect, the cosmic square ought to be taken down.

... Ira, Raparenga, Uure, Nonoma, and Ringiringi got up and left the 'Dark abyss of Hau Maka' (i.e., Rano Kau), arrived at Hanga Te Pau, put the canoe into the water, and sailed off to Hiva, to Maori. Ira left on the twenty-fifth day of the month of October (Tangaroa Uri). When Ira's canoe reached the islets (off the southwestern coast), Makoi (who was staying behind) shouted the following (after him): Eight lands (are there), one has been found (or, an eighth land has been found for the first time, evaru kainga katahi i revaa), that is, Te Pito O Te Kainga. During the fast journey, one cannot find the seven lands in the midst of dim twilight. Once (Easter Island) has been lost, not even eight groups of people (i.e., countless boat crews) can find (it) again. - Ruhi to the right, Pu to the left, necklace around the neck of Hinariru at Papa O Rae! [E:86]

... After all the food supplies had been brought on land [i oti era te kai te too mai ki uta], the two rulers [te ariki arurua], the king and the queen said, 'Drag the canoes on land and take them apart (so the wood can be used) to build houses and cover the roofs!'  They dragged the two canoes on land and took them apart. After they had finished disassembling the canoes, Nuku [Kehu] covered all the houses ... [E:84]

Kehu (cfr ehu). Hidden; what cannot be seen because it is covered; he-kehu te raá, said of the sun when it has sunk below the horizon. Vanaga. Kehu, hakakehu, to hide, disguise, feint, feign, to lie in wait. Kekehu, shoulder G. Churchill.

hakaariki

5h

Ariki 1. King, ruler, member of the nobility, Ariki henua, king; members of the royal family, descending from Hotu Matu'a; noble, nobility, chief. 2. Divine being, superior being. Ariki Paka, certain collateral descendents of Hotu Matu'a, who exercised religious functions. Vanaga. Chief, king, lord, headman in general. Hakaariki, to make one a king. P Pau., Mgv.: ariki, chief. Mq.: aiki, id. Ta.: arii, id. The Marquesan use both aiki and hakaiki in the same sense; the latter forms with Mangarevan akariki a subordinate couple in Southeast Polynesia. Since akariki is the only form in Mangareva and the Marquesas have both we may regard this as indicative of the influence of Mangareva upon the Marquesas. In Tonga we find only eiki; the vowel change is quite in the Tongan manner, the dropping of the liquid is most unusual; the eiki form appears once more in Mangarevan ataeiki (also a language in which it is unusual to drop the liquid) in the sense 'to do nothing and to dress richly in a luxurious way'. Churchill.

... The Mahabharata insists on six as the number of the Pleiades as well as of the mothers of Skanda and gives a very broad and wild description of the birth and the installation of Kartikeya 'by the assembled gods ... as their generalissimo', which is shattering, somehow, driving home how little one understands as yet. The least which can be said, assuredly: Mars was 'installed' during a more or less close conjunction of all planets; in Mbh. 9.45 (p. 133) it is stressed that the powerful gods assembled 'all poured water upon Skanda, even as the gods had poured water on the head of Varuna, the lord of waters, for investing him with dominion'. And this 'investiture' took place at the beginning of the Krita Yuga, the Golden Age ...

Manuscript E was telling about the past, when Easter Island had become a part of the Polynesian world.

And possibly the time frame was that pointed out by the Arabs for the summer, viz. the era of Bharani (*41.4).

... And then we can explain the current (AD 2023) Mars evening December 7 (80 + 260 + 1 = 341 → 300 + 41) as a reference to the Era of Bharani (41 Tauri), which I early on in these investigations (explorations) had determined to be at a precessional time depth of *41 right ascension days ...

The Chorti, in contrast, were beginning their ceremony for raising the sky roof at midnight in the present day of April 25. And the star culminations (at 21h) could serve as a bridge across to the Golden Age of the Bull.

In my list for star culminations Alkes is in April 20 and Denebola in May 3. A straight forward interpolation will lead us to the midnight between FEBRUARY 20 and 21 corresponding to the midnight between April 25 and 26. In the nakshatra night the Full Moon would ideally be seen at the right ascension place where Fomalhaut culminated, i.e. at the place for October 25:
