191. Once again. I have here chosen Acubens (in Cancer) respectively 93 Leonis instead of ζ Hydrae respectively Denebola or Alaraph (in Virgo). My reason is the right ascension fraction .0 which, I have deduced, probably indicated positions to be used in combination with the Sun dates in the Gregorian calendar:
Time was not defined as a point position on a time line but defined as a line position counted from the line of dawn (0h) at the horizon in the east (or in the night as a line due south from the pole). Therefore 93 Leonis identified the same (right ascension) time line as Denebola and Alaraph. ... It should be stated right now that 'fire' is actually a great circle reaching from the North Pole of the celestial sphere to its South Pole ... ... The first line is drawn from Hoku-paa, the fixed or North Star, to the most southerly star of Newe, the Southern Cross. (This hour circle coincides with the meridian on an evening in June, when it would divide the visible sky into halves.) The portion (of the sky) to the right or east of this line (the observer is evidently assumed to be facing north) is called ke ala ula a Kane, the dawning or bright road of Kane, and that to the left or west is called ke alanui maawe ula a Kanaloa, the much-traveled highway of Kanaloa. (Kane and Kanaloa were important gods in the Polynesian pantheon, Kane being associated with light, Kanaloa with darkness.) ... Talitha Borealis (ι Ursae Majoris) - the first star at the uplifted and curved right front paw of the Great Bear - was exactly at the right ascension line stretching down to Acubens (*135.0):
Once upon a time Alioth (The Fat Tail, ε Ursae Majoris) had marked the north pole of the sky (we can see), and at that ancient time the right front paw of the Great Bear had indicated the direction to Gemini. The right front paw was not yet fully open as it would be when the Bear would put it flat on the ground. Bears and men do not stand on their toes, but men have arches. As a kind of confirmation we will find Castor (the Beaver) culminating (at 21h) in the night of Terminalia (February 23, 419 = 365 + 54), which was 64 days after the ancient solstice in DECEMBER 21 (355).
At the other side of the year was the ancient midsummer solstice in JUNE 21 (172 = 236 - 64) when the Sun had been at the right ascension line connected with Tania Australis (*156.0), the 2nd star in the Great Bear's uplifted left large still flat back paw.
