GD43 contains glyphs which are rather heterogenous, although sharing a general shape. They are not numerous and it is difficult to find a GD43 glyph which is 'standard'. Ab2-17 at left clearly has GD43:
Aa8-72 is also a composition with GD43 at left:
Then we have Aa8-33 which obviously must belong to GD43 too, though quite different in its design:
These three are all of this kind in Tahua. The variant with 'fingers' is though also present. Aa8-14 is a good example and the glyph combines features from GD43 with those from GD35:
In Ab7-67 we also can see a hand with thumb, though basically the glyph is GD11:
I have registered the glyph in all three locations (GD11, GD35 and GD43). Glyphs with fingers but without thumb are represented by Ab6-35 and Ab6-36:
So far we are on safe ground (the glyphs mentioned do belong to GD43). But I have also included glyphs where only the bottom part possibly indicates GD43. Examples are Ab4-68, Ab4-69, Ab6-4 and Ab8-29:
Instead of a hand or a 'nut' hanging down we here see something like a wide open 'mouth'. There is no other GD which resembles these glyphs and therefore I have decided to define them as GD43. The variant of GD43 with a 'nut' hanging down has a certain resemblance with the glyphs which belong to GD54:
I have included a hyperlink from GD43 to GD54 (and vice versa). |
