I will now return the book of Lockyer to the library. But I have first to save some of the information in it. I have decided to structure this information so that the first part of this documentation will refer to the sun. As the 2nd part of this information I have chosen the subject of constellations and stars. Then, there is also the matter of the horizon as 'measurement staff' and its functional names for celestial objects. The fundamental truth that Lockyer here has found is that in the ancient world the identity of a celestial object (or of anything) is of no importance, what matters is instead relations. At last I have as a final the subject of the year. This division of the Lockyer information is not an exact grouping, there are e.g. instances where overlapping occurs. Too much information in one large heap would, however, be awkward. |
