The probable explanation of why the texts of K and G differ so much in their details is that K has short glyph lines - they cannot be used for a 'sun perspective'. 14 is the number of nights until waxing moon has reached her maximum and 26 apparently is the corresponding waxing sun maximum. The glyph lines in K never go as far as to 26 glyphs:
7 (half 14) and 13 (half 26) combine naturally to express a quarter, 7 * 13 = 91 days. There are 13 weeks in a quarter but also 7 'sun periods' in a quarter. In a year there are 28 * 13 = 364 days or 52 weeks. Therefore, in K time must be measured by using weeks (or rather fortnights), while in G it is possible to use sun periods. |
