GLYPHS
Aa5-15-4
When reading the C text Metoro
mentioned goe only in one place:
And there is reason to connect Cb2-10 with Gb2-10 - not only for
the location b2-10 in the texts but also because Metoro had here used the expression
moe te goe at Aa5-77.

There were no ferocious lions on Easter Island. So the
corresponding person might have been a 'shark':
... A handsome, fair-skinned stranger, victim
of an accident at sea, is befriended by a shark who carries him
ashore on the south coast of Viti Levu. The stranger
wanders into the interior where he is taken in by a local
chieftain, whose daughter he eventually marries. From this union
springs the line of Noikoro ruling chiefs, the narrator
of the story being the tenth descendant on that line. He and his
clansmen are called 'The Sharks' (Na Qio) ... It is all
as in the Hawaiian proverb: 'A
chief is a shark that travels on land'...

... And possibly the 'twenty-five years' of Iko were referring
to the days from *78 (Rigel) to *366 / 2. Or, more reasonably,
from bottom up; from March 20 (79,
3-20) to April 14 (104, 4-14) ...
And the 'shark' (mago) depicted in Gb2-10 might, it seems, incorporate also the headland of the
upraised (Poike) peninsula
→ 'the Head-land of the Lion':

Poike. MAO. poike
'place aloft'. Barthel 2.
