In ancient Egypt the Crane (Gruis) was regarded as an emblem for an astronomer, someone who looked up in all the nights:

... Horapollo, the grammarian of Alexandria, about A.D. 400, tells us that the crane was the symbol of a star-observer in Egypt ...

Above the Crane was first of all the very bright star named the Mouth of the Fish (Fomalhaut, 29° 53′ S), α in the Fish. And even higher up was Aquarius (the Great One).

From δ (Scheat) Aquarii - the bright star at his right leg - a straight line could be drawn down to δ in the Fish, and both these stars should be visible in the same right ascension day as the great Fomalhaut:

... In the morning of the world, there was nothing but water. The Loon was calling, and the old man who at that time bore the Raven's name, Nangkilstlas, asked her why. 'The gods are homeless', the Loon replied. 'I'll see to it', said the old man, without moving from the fire in his house on the floor of the sea. Then as the old man continued to lie by his fire, the Raven flew over the sea. The clouds broke. He flew upward, drove his beak into the sky and scrambled over the rim to the upper world. There he discovered a town, and in one of the houses a woman had just given birth ...

In my cited text from the D tablet above we can see that in the night sky of September 3 (246, *166) the ideal position for the Full Moon should be at right ascension day *166 + *183 = *349, i.e. at the 13th Chinese station House. Which should correspond to day 80 + 349 = 429 = 365 + 64 = March 5 (31 + 28 + 5 = 64).

Our rona glyph Ca13-8 stands in day 65 as counted from January 1. And anciently, in the Golden Age of the Bull, the date should have been JANUARY 1. This should evidently be the place the astronomers ought to be looking for, viz. the pair of stars υ, θ Gruis which were located exactly at the right ascension line for 23h.

The stick held high at right could represent the Nilometer, which measured the depth of the waters of the Nile:
