Logic drives us on. 243 is the number of nights from rau hei up to the following tao:

242 227
Gb1-22 (252) Ga1-22 (495) Gb1-21
Gb1-25 (255) Ga1-25 (498) Gb1-24
Ga6-22 (163) Gb6-23 (406) Ga6-21
Ga6-25 (166) Gb6-26 (409) Ga6-24
243 229

The new sun who is born in midwinter (honu at Gb6-26) has a 'life span' of 229 days (equal to the number of glyphs on side a). The 'person' who is born a quarter later (at spring equinox), illustrated by tao in Ga1-25, likewise has a 'life span' of 229 days.

But many questions remain. The most clear of the four cases seems to be rau hei in Ga6-25, where 6 * 25 = 150 or half the cycle of the sun. The sacrifice comes at the proper time in order to induce sun at winter solstice to wake up again. This one we can understand, but the other three cases?

Gb1-21 is an extraordinary glyph without anything similar among all the rongorongo texts, it is unique:

242
Gb1-21 Gb1-22 (252) Ga1-22 (495)

I will here attempt to get a grip on it, because it ought to have something to do with rau hei in Gb1-22.

The way to do it is to make a detour to the text of H and the meaning of number 314.

The 1st member in a triplet (the one who comes first, before rau hei) possibly has nothing to do with rau hei and tao. But evidence talks against such an assumption. Half of them (redmarked below) appear to be related to the 3rd member in the triplet:

242
Gb1-21 Gb1-22 (252) Ga1-22 (495)
Gb1-24 Gb1-25 (255) Ga1-25 (498)
Ga6-21 Ga6-22 (163) Gb6-23 (406)
Ga6-24 Ga6-25 (166) Gb6-26 (409)

Presumably the 1st glyph in a triplet describes the last day of the 'person' in the 3rd glyph, and maybe it is time for him to be 'sacrificed'.
