We have now looked quickly on the first 6 of the nuku glyphs in Q:

Qa3-1 Qa3-18 Qa3-22 Qa3-24 Qa5-30 *Qa7-6

The idea of rima vae (no 'fire') has been tested where it should, viz. at the beginning of side a, where spring sun should rule and where there ought to be much 'fire'. Arguments have been found to explain all 6 nuku glyphs.

The Moriori fishermen have told us that 8 daughters were born of heaven and earth:

"... Ruanuku, Motu ariki, Te Ao marama, Tu mare, Ranganuku, Matariki, Wari, and Ro Tauira the pattern-maid - these were the females. These were Rangitokona's descendants born of heaven and the earth ..." (Legends of the South Seas)

The first daughter was Ruanuku. I guess she is mentioned first because she ought to be located at the beginning of the 2nd half of the year, the time when spring sun has left and moon will rule the sky. Sun is reborn at the beginning of the 1st half of the year and moon at the beginning of the 2nd half.

Rua

1. Two; second; other (precedes the noun); te rua paiga, the other side. 2. Hole, grave; holes in the rocks or between the rocks of the coastal lagoons; he keri i te rua, to dig a hole. 3. To vomit. Vanaga.

1. Two. P Mgv., Ta.: rua, id. Mq.: úa. 2. Nausea, seasickness, to vomit, disgust; hakarua, to vomit, to spew. PS Mgv.: aruai, ruai, to vomit. Mq.: úa, id. Ta.: ruai, id. Pau.: ruaki, id. Sa.: lua'i, to spit out of the mouth; lulua, to vomit. To.: lua to vomit. Fu.: lulua, luaki, id. Niuē: lua, id. Viti: lua, id.; loloa, seasick. 3. Cave, hollow, ditch, pit, hole, beaten path, grave; rua papaka, a ditch. P Pau.: rua, a hole. Mgv.: rua, a hole in the ground, ditch, trench. Mq.: úa, dish, hole, cavern. Ta.: rua, hole, opening, ditch. Churchill.

Ta.: ruahine, an old woman. Ma.: ruahine, id. Ta.: ruaroa, tropic of Capricorn. Mq.: uaoa, a constellation, the eleventh month. The sense in Tahiti is probably that of some constellation which may be used to determine the position. Ta.: ruau, an old man, an old woman. Ha.: luau, a parent. Churchill.

The hole in the ground (rua), to vomit (rua), two (rua), are signs we have met when the head of the spring shark disappears, e.g.:

Aa6-66 Aa6-67

According to the Tahitians Ruaroa was the tropic of Capricorn, and the Marquesans had it as a constellation, presumably rising to announce the 11th month. The 11th month is the first beyond the 10 of the sun.

The beginning of the 2nd half of the year coincides - we have learned from the rongorongo texts - with the end of the 10th month of spring sun. It presumably is the time of Ruanuku, the firstborn of 8 lunar double-month daughters of heaven and earth.

Only one manu rere glyph in Q is 'unmarked', has no extra sign added in order to change the meaning. This fact makes it very special. It is located 4 days beyond Hanga Takaure:

*Qa7-15 (269) *Qa7-16 *Qa7-17 *Qa7-18 *Qa7-19 *Qa7-20
199 272 / 2 + 64 = 200 = 0 1
*Qa7-21 *Qa7-22 *Qa7-23 *Qa7-24 *Qa7-25 *Qa7-26
2 3 4

With Hanga Takaure (*Qa7-17) as point of reference, *Qa7-25 will be number 9. Here, evidently, the spirit (manu rere) of the sun king is leaving.

In G we can search for the corresponding days. 204 - 64 = 140 (as in 10 fortnights):

20
Ga5-22 Ga5-23 Ga5-24 (136) Ga5-25
Ga5-26 Ga5-27 Ga5-28 Ga5-29 (140)

Hanga Takaure is here located at Ga5-24 - where the 1st '36' is ending, day number 200 from winter solstice (as alluded to by the henua period number).

Moreover, the 3 feathers up front on ariki probably represent the spring sun which will be 'eaten' (kai in G, vaha kai in Q), a 'joke' which we can understand only now by comparing with Q. We must remember this, that the kai gesture has two 'faces', it can either be used to indicate the growth of the figure at left or as the figure at left being 'devoured'. It can either mean tagata kai or kai tagata.

10 months of spring sun is from this perspective ending after 200 days (with his spirit leaving 4 days later). Each such month measures 20 days.

200 days are here, in G, measured from Rogo at Gb6-26 (409), not from day 400. From day 400 the number of days will instead be 209. From day 413 (Tama) the number of days will be 196.

Twice 209 = 418:

Gb7-5 Gb7-6 Gb7-7 (418) Gb7-8 Gb7-9 Gb7-10 Gb7-11

Twice 196 = 392 (as the number of glyphs on side a of C):

Gb6-5 Gb6-6 Gb6-7 Gb6-8 Gb6-9 (392) Gb6-10
Gb6-11 Gb6-12 Gb6-13 Gb6-14 Gb6-15 Gb6-16

Twice 200 = 400:

Gb6-17 (400) Gb6-18 Gb6-19 Gb6-20 Gb6-21 Gb6-22 Gb6-23 Gb6-24
Gb6-25 Gb6-26 Gb6-27 Gb6-28 Gb7-1 Gb7-2 Gb7-3 Gb7-4

400 is here counted from Gb8-30, not from Rogo at Gb6-26. Likewise 418 and 392.

If we count from Rogo, instead, we must add 64:

400 464 4 * 64 = 256 = 8 * 32
Gb6-17
418 482 4 * 82 = 328 = 8 * 41
Gb7-7
392 456 4 * 56 = 224 = 8 * 28
Gb6-9

By adding 64 to 418 the number will be 482 = 8 * 41 ('reversed' 418). A new year sun will be released the following day:

Gb7-5 Gb7-6 Gb7-7 (418 = 0) Gb7-8 (1) Gb7-9 (2) Gb7-10 (3) Gb7-11 (4)

We can notice that the space formed by the strange foot, wing, and body of manu rere is forming a 'cap' sign. It is the upper part of a koti sign, quite interesting because we have not seen any such sign earlier in G.

If we count from Venus in Gb5-13, there are 49 (= 7 * 7) glyphs to Gb7-5.

Gb5-9 Gb5-10 Gb5-11 Gb5-12
Gb5-13 (367) Gb5-14 Gb5-15 Gb5-16

The generating fish in Gb5-7 is the same one as in Gb5-13, with the difference that it has gone into action. Its ordinal number (counted from Gb8-30) is 416 = 13 * 32 = 16 * 26.
