Sirius is the brightest star in the night and the arrangement of the triplet of glyphs followed by tao is similar to how in the middle of the night the newborn sun is set in motion:

Gb2-9 Gb2-10 Gb2-11 Gb2-12
Te Pou tao
Aa1-42 Aa1-43 Aa1-44 Aa1-45
Midnight tao

Whereas Gb2-12 is the 2nd in a pair of tao glyphs, there is no tao glyph preceding Aa1-45.

Finally, a table is given, showing an overview of the numerical relationships (in the G text) between the two tao glyphs on side a and the first two on side b.

Beyond Gb2-12 to the end of the table below there are 230 glyphs, and beyond Ga1-25 up to and including Gb2-12 there are 242 glyphs. Beyond Gb1-24 to the end of the table there are 244 glyphs, and beyond Ga1-25 up to and including Gb1-24 there are 228 glyphs:

224
Gb1-21 Gb1-22 Gb1-23 Gb1-24 Gb1-25
251 252 253 254 255
9 203
Gb2-9 Gb2-10 Gb2-11 Gb2-12 Gb8-30
265 266 267 268 472
22
Ga1-22 Ga1-23 Ga1-24 Ga1-25
23 24 25 26

Between tao in Gb2-12 and tao in Ga1-22 there are 9 * 25 = 15 * 15 = 225 glyphs. From Ga1-22 up to and including Gb2-12 there are 13 * 19 = 247 glyphs.

225 + 247 = 472, and 247 - 225 = 22.

From tao in Gb1-24 up to and including tao in Ga1-25 there are 219 + 26 = 245 = 5 * 7 * 7 glyphs. Betweem Ga1-25 and Gb1-24 there are 227 glyphs.

245 + 227 = 472, and 245 - 227 = 18.

Between tao in Gb1-24 and tao in Ga1-22 there are 218 + 22 = 240 = 8 * 30 glyphs. From Ga1-22 up to and including Gb1-24 there are 8 * 29 = 232 glyphs.

240 + 232 = 472, and 240 - 232 = 8.

From tao in Gb2-12 up to and including tao in Ga1-22 there are 205 + 23 = 228 = 12 * 19 glyphs. Between Ga1-22 and Gb2-12 there are 244 = 4 * 61 glyphs.

228 + 244 = 472, and 244 - 228 = 16.

Numbers are tricky, glyphs are more secure. Extending the comparison we find ragi both in Gb2-14 and Aa1-47:

Gb2-9 Gb2-10 Gb2-11 Gb2-12
Aa1-42 Aa1-43 Aa1-44 Aa1-45
Gb2-13 Gb2-14 Gb2-15
Aa1-46 Aa1-47 Aa1-48

The creators of G and A seem to have been aware of this structure. The very special eating gesture in Aa1-48 is parallel with another odd eating gesture in Gb2-15. Sun respectively Sirius apparently have started 'sucking'.

The reversed 'person' in Aa1-46 should be similar in meaning to the bird with a very heavy head in Gb2-13.

But if we move yet another triplet of glyphs ahead we have (it seems) no longer contact between the two texts:

Gb2-16 Gb2-17 Gb2-18
Aa1-49 Aa1-50 Aa1-51
Aa1-52 Aa1-53 Aa1-54

Moving in the other direction does not give much either:

Aa1-37 Aa1-38 Aa1-39 Aa1-40 Aa1-41
Gb2-4 Gb2-5 Gb2-6 Gb2-7 Gb2-8

The faint similarities (growing maro 'feathers' and hua enveloped in 'feathers') probably, though, are the results of a common basic structure.
