Immediately beyond the calendar we have studied in E, there are glyphs among which appear both of the two main hua poporo types (3 respectively 4 'balls'):

Eb6-20 Eb6-21 Eb6-22
Eb6-23 Eb6-24 Eb6-25 Eb6-26
Eb6-27 Eb6-28 Eb6-29 Eb6-30
Eb6-31 Eb6-32 Eb6-33 Eb6-34
Eb6-35 Eb6-36

I will not try to interpret these glyphs for the moment, only point at their existence.

Yet, we note the presence of canoes in Eb6-28--29. The ordinal numbers point at the end of the month.

The ordinal number in Eb6-36 points at the end of the year. The identical glyph in Eb6-35 must have a related meaning, and we can 'read' it as ½ 70 (i.e. 420/12). From this we ought to reevaluate 36 into 360/10. The moon measure (35) arrives before the sun measure (36), presumably because we are in the domain of the moon (winter).

Similarly we should notice how at the end of the K text, we have a pattern with 3 + 1 'hua':

Kb5-303 Kb5-304 Kb5-305 Kb5-306
Here the text of K ends, with possibly only one glyph missing after Kb5-309.
Kb5-307 Kb5-308 Kb5-309

A headless person is on the run (Kb5-306) and I remember:

... When he reappears he is clothed as in the Narmer palette, wearing the kilt with Hathor belt and bull's tail attatched. In his right hand he holds the flail scepter and in his left, instead of the usual crook of the Good Shepherd, an object resembling a small scroll, called the Will, the House Document, or Secret of the Two Partners, which he exhibits in triumph, proclaiming to all in attendance that it was given him by his dead father Osiris, in the presence of the earth-god Geb. 'I have run', he cries, 'holding the Secret of the Two Partners, the Will that my father has given me before Geb. I have passed through the land and touched the four sides of it. I traverse it as I desire.' ...

In G we instead have:

Ga7-23 Ga7-24
Ga7-25 Ga7-26 Ga7-27 Ga7-28 Ga7-29
Ga7-30 Ga7-31 Ga7-32 Ga7-33

Ga7-25--29 (5 glyphs) are located where in K we have Kb5-305--306 (2 glyphs).

Ga7-32--33 correspond to Kb5-307--309. There are 6+7 = 13 'feathers' in Ga7-32 and 2+3 = 5 in Kb5-307.

The 3+1 = 4  'balls' in Kb5-308--309 presumably indicate the midwinter hua poporo and I remember:

Aa1-16

Aa1-17

Aa1-18

Aa1-19

... The reverse Aa1-17 tells us that at Aa1-18 a new period is beginning. Similarly the reverse Aa1-34 (twice 17) tell us that 'one got away' and a new cycle will start again after the Janus sign in Aa1-35:

Aa1-32

Aa1-33

Aa1-34

Aa1-35

Aa1-36

A third version of the same story appears with Aa1-52 as the 'survivor':

Aa1-49

Aa1-50

Aa1-51

Aa1-52

Aa1-53

Aa1-54

Aa1-55

Aa1-56

...  line Aa1 seems to be intentionally divided into 5 parts:

Aa1-18

Aa1-36

Aa1-54

Aa1-72

Aa1-90

sun escapes (tere) from darkness

one 'got away' (new start)

new start (oho)

'turning around' (vari) 5 times

'finished' (oti)

A flow of 8 more hua poporo glyphs follows:

Ga7-30 Ga7-31
Ga7-32 Ga7-33 Ga7-34 Ga8-1
Ga8-2 Ga8-3 Ga8-4
Ga8-5 Ga8-6 Ga8-7 Ga8-8 Ga8-9
Ga8-10 Ga8-11 Ga8-12
Ga8-13 Ga8-14 Ga8-15

There are 6 Rei glyphs, and the number of 'balls' are 38 (= 2 * 19 and therefore suggesting 'death' of the sun). The pattern is 16 + 16 + 6.

These glyphs, in turn, should make us associate with further glyphs in E, beginning immediately beyond the final Eb6-35--36 (see above). 7 'ball glyphs' in this group have earlier persuaded me the 7 glyphs correspond to the 'planets':

Eb7-1 Eb7-2 Eb7-3 Eb7-4
Sun, Moon, and Mars, I suspect.

4 + 5 + 5 = 14 'balls' (or 17, counting the bottom ones)

Eb7-5 Eb7-6
Eb7-7 Eb7-8
Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, I suspect.

(7 + 4) + (2 + 4) =  11 + 6 = 17 'balls' (or 19, counting the bottom ones)

14 + 17 = 31 and 17 + 19 = 36

Eb7-9 Eb7-10
Eb7-11 Eb7-12
Eb7-13 Eb7-14 Eb7-15 Eb7-16
