We continue with the long quotation: "The last third of the way to Anakena is different from the preceding eight pairs of place names because of the difference in directon (south/north and east/west). This distribution of characteristics leads one to believe that the path of the dream soul with its twenty-four names is divided into three segments. Assuming such a division, it turns out that the real distance of each of the three segments (Motu Nui - Te Pou, Hua Reva - Poike, and Maunga Pua Katiki - Maunga Peke Tau O Hiti) is about the same - that is, approximately 10 km by air." The text of G has two divisions, not three, 6 respectively 7 (or 7 respectively 8) kuhane stations each, i.e. the segments are not equally long. Motu Nui (Nga Kope Ririva) connects not to Te Pou but to Te Piringa Aniva, and instead of mesuring from Hua Reva to Poike the next segment should be from Te Pei to One Tea:
The black Te Pei of course should be connected with the other extreme - the blindingly white sands of One Tea. This is the 2nd moon segment. The first moon segment stretches from Nga Kope Ririva to Te Piringa Aniwa. 6 + 8 = 14. Maunga Hau Epa and Hanga Takaure are outside the moon segments. 14 * 29.5 = 7 * 59 = 413. They mark the beginnings of the two moon segments. We can regard these 6 + 8 = 14 moon stations as those of the waxing moon, because the remaining 14 have focus on the sun. Sun is involved from Gb8-30 up to Hanga Te Pau (Gb5-12) and the connection point is Sirius:
3 * 29.5 = 88.5 - i.e. Nga Kope Ririva is located three lunar months before the midpoint between Gb2-10 and Gb2-11. Sirius is the first glyph beyond the end of the beginning. Beyond Sirius, in the moon calendar, it is getting more and more light. Beyond Sirius in the sun calendar it is the opposite - sun is waning. Moon moves towards the light (in the east), while sun moves away from it towards the west. Counting from Nga Kope Ririva Ga7-8 (178) half a year ahead (364 / 2 = 182), we reach to the end of the regular calendar year:
