This glyph looks like a mix between GD16
and a character that is not (yet) included in my catalogue. GD16 seems
to represent
vai ora a Tane, of that I am fairly convinced, but what about the other
part?
The observant reader has already found part of the answer in
GD81. Though the glyph must then be oriented 90o
to the right:
in order to make the similarities become more obvious:
There is no middle 'leg' in our glyph and - due to the new orientation -
the 'flames' are bent the wrong way. Otherwise quite similar. And also the
missing central 'leg' could of course be absent due to the difference in
orientation.
There is a sequence incorporating GD81 without
eyes. But in another sequence GD81 has eyes.
The latter
sequence seems to signal 'double' in different ways. I don't know where
these sequences are beginning and ending. Further studies are needed.
However, the pair of 'closed fists' should be possible to
decipher, so we will continue with that.
