Then there are the fishes. January and May have each four fishes on top, sorted as two fishes one way and the other two the opposite way. This is a sign of water. Fishes need water. Remember Saturday and the difficulty they had in knowing if it was Saturn or Jupiter who was Ikaika. The four moons of Jupiter perhaps are these four fishes? One fish on top of November and July (the same months which are above the loop and close to the 'horizon') might indicate that the watery kingdom is near. The impression is that between the solstices there is dry earth above the loop and water below the loop. That means that 'water' cannot be the same thing as darkness. Because then the fishes would not be there in January. The solstices seem to govern the visual play on the Sun Door, they are definining the horizontal line. The equinoxes define the vertical line. I think this is an upside down world: The horizontal plane should be the plane of the earth where we live and the vertical dimension what is above (sky, birds and gods) and below (water, fishes and the inhabitants of the dark). However, I am a city-dweller: Posnansky: "September is the month of spring in South America, and at that time the fiesta of greatest importance was celebrated among the ancient inhabitants of the inter-andean section, since it marked the beginning of the agricultural period, when 'Pachamama', the Goddess of Earth, received in her fertile lap the seed, which would be returned fruitful and increased at the next equinox." The vertical dimension is the dimension of importance, not a spatial matter. |
