When adding the new version to my 'pärm' I discovered that there was no old version to throw into the waste basket. That means I haven't earlier copied the GD15 part of my dictionary and pasted it anywhere among these innumerable pages. Which you my dear reader is trying to follow - "Please do observe that level 1 is where you should start in order to reach a good understanding of this site and the rongorongo texts!" Poor reader! I envy your perseverance. Here I used the wonderful Webster site which I discovered just some minutes ago: PERSEVERANCE, n. A lowly virtue whereby mediocrity achieves an inglorious success. "Persevere, persevere!" cry the homilists all, Themselves, day and night, persevering to bawl. "Remember the fable of tortoise and hare -- The one at the goal while the other is -- where?" Why, back there in Dreamland, renewing his lease Of life, all his muscles preserving the peace, The goal and the rival forgotten alike, And the long fatigue of the needless hike. His spirit a-squat in the grass and the dew Of the dogless Land beyond the Stew, He sleeps, like a saint in a holy place, A winner of all that is good in a race. Sukker Uffro. Source: Devil's Dictionary. 'Sukker' = 'sugar' in Danish and in Norwegian. 'Uffro' I can't find. I feel like a little child asking questions and then when hearing the answers wanting to ask new questions. By searching in Word through the document 'Index' I assure myself that my conclusion of GD15 not before having appeared in these pages is true. Next conclusion then is to include such a hyperlink to GD15 here. My earlier writing ".. this type of glyph certainly shows a human appearance... " then was not so bad. Not until I include a hyperlink to a GD (in my dictionary) into these pages do I feel the necessity to do my very best. Before that no tight quality control has been applied. |
