It now is rather clear why the 12th period in the Keiti calendar of the year has hônu in it:
We should think of this type of glyph as an embodiement of viri (only the ends are shown, the middle part of viri being hidden behind the breast shield), and an incarnation of the sun. That happens only twice a year: At the solstices, when one half year is ending and another starting. In the kingdom of Hotu Matu'a there are two worlds, or 'earths' according to Metoro. Here we have 6 glyphs (the number of the sun) in period no. 12 = 2 * 6. It cannot be more clear. Eb4-12 announces that the sun-cat (GD37) has lost his feet, not in touch with henua for the moment.
