The key for understanding the rongorongo texts,
the text of Manuscript E, and all the other true myths, is perception. The
world outside is perceived not only by our sense organs
which transform signals into objective correlations,
but also by our perceptions inside, due to the growth of knowledge created from
these
correlations - i.e. the Tree of Human Knowledge.
The early immigrants to Easter Island must have
brought an immense volume of traditions along,
supported by information encoded in
the sky roof of the night. The beginning of a growth
was little (iti) but the end was great (nui).

Although Makoi went around the whole island
in a single day when naming
places, his actions could also have established a cycle for the
lunar phases.
And in order to
coordinate the Sun
calendar with these places it should
have been
reasonable to use the Pleiades.
The Earth turns around in a single day and
therefore all the places up in the sky roof
will pass by overhead in such a day.
Day 56
(counted from March 21) was when Alcyone,
Atlas, and Pleione (in the 2nd day of the
Pleiades) rose together with the Sun at the time of
rongorongo, after they had culminated in December
31 (at 21h).
... Allen has documented
all his star culminations at 21h, which
should be due to an effort of keeping the
culminations at their proper places
according to the ancients, 24h (spring
equinox) - 21h = 3h = 24h / 8 = 45º. 3h
corresponds to 366 / 8 = 45.75 of my right
