At first I could not understand what GD26
possibly might show. Then, on TV, I saw surfacing whales gulping down millions of small plankton. Of course, that must be it, I thought. The head of that kind of whale is nothing more than a great mouth. Having identified GD26 as a whale, my next idea was that it could mean Tangaroa. However, we have seen that there might be other meanings. To show a circular motion may be intended. There is a similarity with GD43. In Ea9-26
at what presumably is the start of something, we have a curious variant of GD26. The tail is not there, just a hook, and the 'mouth' is vertically oriented. Possibly Ea9-26 is parallel with GD26-type glyphs in other texts, all or most of which seem to be located at the beginning of the text, e.g. H/P/Q. |
