With blue and red colours I have marked some key numbers on last page. The rongorongo writers seem to have focused on the changes between dark and light, reality seen like the white and black squares of a chess-board. Like man and woman. Like sun and moon. Like day and night. Etc, etc. I would not be surprised if in the future with more clever techniques it would emerge that the glyphs on the rongorongo boards were coloured like this too. I think I know some of the types of glyphs which would be red and some which would be blue.

'Frame of Reference' I say. Once there was such a one, known all over the world. Details may have varied but the foundation was the same. Now we have lost this 'cosmos'. I am trying to restore it from myths, mathematics, astronomy and rongorongo. Because I think we need this frame of reference in order to be able to 'read'.

Some of the numbers on last page I think are secure and 'known'. 59 is such a number.

Other numbers are definitely not known in this sense, i.e. in that we may put an equality sign (=) after and explain the number in full. Mostly there are many explanations, not just one.

4 is such a difficult number. It may be 'read' as the four 'corners' of the earth, but it may also be explained as 364 - 360, as the four 'phases' of the moon, as the four 'quarters' of a year, as the four cardinal directions, as the number of legs on a dog (tail being 1/4), etc, etc. With low numbers anything is possible, i.e. no further information may be gained from a text solely based on the occurrence of number 4.

314 is better (as well as 628 and 157). 72 is like 4, no good.

The number exercise on last page is just a preliminary exercise. Certainly we can do better in describing this Matariki calendar. So much becomes clear from the numbers, though, that this is not a calendar for the day but a calendar for the night. The Pleiades should be watched during the night. The numbers tell us so much (as if we didn't understood that anyhow).
