INTRODUCTION

1. Early in my rongorongo studies I decided to wait until later with the writings on the Aruku Kurenga (B) tablet, when it would be possible to use this tablet as a test in order to find out whether my ideas and tentative conclusions would stand up against also a view of the text on this tablet. Now, after finally haven taken an overview of the B text I am resting assured, nothing there disagrees - as far as I can see - with what could be imagined from the previous texts.

2. However, that does not mean much has been 'completely understood'. I am here using the reverse expression compared to the common phrase among modern scientists when they are forced to admit by some question they are unable to explain - 'as yet we have not completely understood'. What a stupid statement! You can never understand anything completely. When you think you have deduced something, this cannot imply more than a tiny glimpse (at best) of a greater whole. A fraction of the whole (a hole) will still leave the remainder untouched and covered by the cloth of ignorance. Thus will I surely have opportunities to learn more even after Aruku Kurenga.

3. Before attempting to once again (réculer pour mieux sauter) take a look at the E text (on the tablet named Keiti), I feel, however, an urge to say at least something regarding the major outlines which, based on my experiences so far, can be expected to be found also on the E tablet.

4. How can this 'something' be described? To mind comes an introduction to this subject matter for the very young:

... Inky pinky spider climbing up the spout, down came the rain washed poor spider out; inky pinky spider climbing up again ...

5. This is no explanation, it is the opposite. It conveys a picture to be chewed on. This is much better than explaining - which always will be insufficient and demanding more explanations without limit.

6. To understand is something quite personal, it is a living process which cannot be transferred from one person to another. We can nod in agreement, but we will never truly be alike in our viewpoints - i.e. where we stand. Understanding can only come in due time and after having been established by personal growth.

7. I want to learn more. Therefore I will continue to dig.
