... Similarly could Naos (*121 → 11 * 11) be
associated with 8h and the place 28 days after the solstice, i.e. 65 days
after Alcyone (*56). 65 is the palindrome of 56.
11 * 11 = 8 weeks + 5 * 13 → 513 = 19 * 27 → with 513 as
the 'partial palindrome' of 531 = 18 * 29½. Thus 513 ought to be
similar to 18 * 28½ ...

... In China, every year about the beginning of April, certain officials
called Sz'hüen used of old to go about the country armed with
wooden clappers. Their business was to summon the people and command
them to put out every fire. This was the beginning of the season called
Han-shih-tsieh, or 'eating of cold food' ...

... The son of
Zebedee and Salome, James is styled 'the
Greater' to distinguish him from the
Apostle James 'the Less', who was
probably shorter of stature. We know
nothing of St. James's early life. He
was the brother of John, the beloved
disciple, and probably the elder of the
two ... James' emblem was the scallop
shell (or 'cockle shell'), and pilgrims
to his shrine often wore that symbol on
their hats or clothes. The French for a
scallop is coquille St. Jacques,
which means 'cockle (or mollusk) of St.
James'. The German word for a scallop is
Jakobsmuschel, which means
'mussel (or clam) of St. James'; the
Dutch word is Jacobsschelp,
meaning 'shell of St. James' ... The
scallop shell is represented in the
decoration of churches named after St.
James, such as in St James' Church,
Sydney, where it appears in a number of
places, including in the mosaics on the
floor of the chancel. When referring to
St James, the scallop shell is
represented with convex perspective.
Referring to Venus the perspective is
concave ... The date to celebrate St
James (the Great) was July 25 in Western
Christianity, April 30 in Eastern
Christianity, and December 30 in the
Hispanic Church. On the other hand, St
John (the apostle) was celebrated in
December 27 according to all these
church traditions. St George, who died
in April 23 in the year 303 AD, was
celebrated in April 23 ... |
Possibly the Y-shape and the wedge are alluding
to such instruments as those of the twin
astronomers in the illustration below:
"The Chinese picture illustrates in true archaic
spirit (which means that only hints are given,
and the spectator has to work out for himself
the significance of the details) the surveying
of the universe. The two characters surrounded
by constellations are Eu Hsi and Nu Kua, i.e.,
the craftsman god and his paredra, who measure
the 'squareness of the earth' and the 'roundness
of heaven' with their implements, the square
with the plumb bob hanging from it, and the
compass. The intertwined serpent-like bodies of
the deities indicate clearly enough, although in
a peculiar 'projection', circular orbits
intersecting each other at regular intervals." (Hamlet's
Mill)
