3. These are the main tagata glyphs of interest in the present discussion I think:
They are 5 (Sun) + 8 (Moon) = 13 in number. The low neck of the tagata glyphs on the front side is contrasted with a high neck on the back side - given that we include Gb1-5 in the front side group. We can see that Ga4-1 is the main tagata in the text, the first and major of 6 without adjuncts:
From the main tagata in Ga4-1 to Gb1-5, where 1-5 can be read as 15(0), there are 150 days. Counting 150 days back in time we will find Gb6-24:
62 * 4 = 248 (= 8 * 31), which possibly is a reference to hakaturou in Gb1-18
Glyph line b1 is number 9 on the tablet and the curve of hakaturou (hakaturu means to cause to descend, hakaturou to curse) could mean the final of the path of the 'Big Man':
Here I have tried to count 248 + 472 = 720 and the evident 'final curve' in hakaturou could e.g. mark the end of 2 years (2 * 360 = 720 = 12 * 60 = 5 * 144). However, any number of sophisticated explanations are possible, for instance is 248 - 118 = 130 (where both 13 and 10 can symbolize the final of Sun). The curve sign is much firmer ground to stand on: ... The dream soul came to Rangi Meamea and looked around searchingly. The dream soul spoke: 'Here at last is level land where the king can live.' She named the place 'Rangi Meamea A Hau Maka O Hiva'. The mountain she named 'Peke Tau O Hiti A Hau Maka O Hiva'. The dream soul moved along a curve from Peke Tau O Hiti to the mountain Hau Epa, which she named 'Maunga Hau Epa A Hau Maka O Hiva' ... The kuhane station Maunga Hau Epa was number 23 (counting from the beginning of the mainland):
It was the final station before the birth of a new Sun king:
Also Ga6-24 has a curve in front. |
