Our first task should now be to try to group the glyphs according to the visual clues. These are very many, and depending on which approach we will choose the resulting groups will tend to be different. I think we need to understand the various kiore+henua+maro glyphs and will therefore begin from there.

In Ga4-13 our attention will immediately be drawn to the central henua sign which has been drawn with an open outline, a strong indication of meaning something else than the corresponding henua signs in the earlier 10 periods. Then we will notice that kiore in Ga4-13 (where 4 * 13 = 52) has another kind of mouth than in the preceding 10 periods. And in the following period (12) the mouth will once again change, but then return (in 13-14) to the more normal form (like in the 6 periods of line a3). Finally, in the 15th period the same type of mouth as in period 11 returns (and henua has an oblique top end)..

We need an overview for the first 10 periods:

6 feathers instead of 5 and another skull form
Ga3-5 (65)
maro grows from henua in the same way as in Ga3-5
Ga3-9 (69)
Ga3-16 (76) Ga3-19 (79) Ga3-21 (81) Ga3-24 (84)
Ga4-4 (88) Ga4-6 (90) Ga4-8 (92) Ga4-10 (94)
- henua bent at the top - 6 feathers and a dot at right

The corresponding glyphs in the following 5 periods will dealt with later, we have already much to consider.

The tiny dot at right in Ga4-10 could be there to call on our attention. There are 6 feathers in Ga3-5 and also 6 in Ga4-10, maybe to indicate the beginning and end of a sequence of 10 periods. 6 + 8 * 5 + 6 = 52.
