1. Ana-muri is the stern of the canoe, the antipode of its bow Ana-mua:

Ga1

Ana-mua, entrance pillar

Antares, α Scorpii

-26° 19'  16h 26

Ga2

Ana-muri, rear pillar (at the foot of which was the place for tattooing)

Aldebaran, α Tauri

16° 25'  04h 33

Ga3

Ana-roto, middle pillar

Spica, α Virginis

-10° 54'  13h 23

Ga4

Ana-tipu, upper-side-pillar (where the guards stood)

Dubhe, α Ursae Majoris

62° 01'  11h 01

16h - 4h = 12h.

North of the equator the arrival of Aldebaran announced that summer was in front, south of the equator it foretold of the coming dark autumn. Therefore we can understand why Ana-muri marked a place for tattooing (moko). In line Gb3 there are no henua signs:

  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
side a x - x x x x x x
side b x x - x x x x x

But if there is a correspondence between glyph line Ga2 and Ana-muri, then also the absence of henua signs in line Ga2 should be connected with the moko season.

The ship of Sun is evidently stretching for half a year and defined by the stars of its bow and stern. It is therefore not strange to mention also the stern when the bow is described. A picture with only the front part of the ship would be very unnatural, and Sagittarius has his front paws depicted as standing on a whole ship:
