5. Possibly the 'cartouche' glyph in Ha6-3 hints at how a new fire is obtained by rubbing a stick in a grove made of wood:

Ha6-1 Ha6-2 Ha6-3 Ha6-4 Ha6-5 Ha6-6

Tagata in Ha6-2 says the prior 'season', viz. 'a.m. Sun', has grown to its full length. We can remember how the head of Tu whakararo was cut off, and how his eyes were gouged out and given to Maurea, to be eaten by her. After that a new fire surely is needed.

In the parallel Tahua text Metoro told about the old woman (te nuahine) who arrests the fire:

Aa1-24
ko te nuahine -  i mamau i te ahi

Considering 'noon' to be the 'end station' of Sun, after 300 days of 'fire', and summer solstice as a sign of Sun's death, we realize there must be 2 stations where a new fire needs to be generated. Both solstices necessitate a new fire.
