416. Late in July / early in August is
neither at a solstice nor at an equinox. The birds
bringing
life came between the winter solstice and the spring
equinox. We should remember how north of the equator in
the land of the Mayas their
First Father (Hun-Nal-Yeh) similarly alighted in
February 5:

The day in the year which on Easter Island
corresponded to February 5 (36) ought to be day 36 + 182
= 218 (August 6), after the Great Bear (Itzam-Yeh)
had uplifted her right front paw. This place was also 64
days after the Julian equinox (84) back in the year 3149 BC
when Itzam-Yeh had been defeated, which probably
was no coincidence because 218 (August 6) - 148 (28 May) = 70
precessional days back in time:

The idea could possibly have
been to illustrate
that when Itzam-Yeh had been defeated
he had been uplifted, like his right front
paw, to the stars in the night.
We have earlier identified
the day in the year when Hun-Nal-Ye entered the
sky as defined from the time of the Bull
to point at Polaris and this (16 days before
FEBRUARY 5) was 200 days after August 6
(218). April 26 (116) = February 5 (36) + 80
and 10 days earlier the Belly of the Fish (Baten
Kaitors, ζ
Ceti, *26.6) had defined the right ascension position of Polaris
to be
FEBRUARY 11 (408 = 218 + 200):

There is a 'fist' held high at
the proper place, which agrees
with the idea of a new beginning
(10 days after the empty hand at
Polaris ).
... The practice
of turning down the fingers,
contrary to our practice,
deserves notice, as perhaps
explaining why sometimes savages
are reported to be unable to
count above four. The European
holds up one finger, which he
counts, the native counts those
that are down and says 'four'.
Two fingers held up, the native
counting those that are down,
calls 'three'; and so on until
the white man, holding up five
fingers, gives the native none
turned down to count. The native
is nunplussed, and the enquirer
reports that savages can not
count above four
...
The precessional
distance down from the time of
rongorongo to that of the First
Father can be calculated as
around (1842 + 3112) / 26000 *
365.25 = 70 right ascension
days, or as 6 days more than 64
= 10 days less than 80. It was
evidently Polaris who rose with
the Sun when Hun-Nal-Ye
became the sky, and it would
have been in day 392 (January
26) - 10 = 382 (January 16) when
the companion star of Polaris
(*26.6), viz. the Belly of the
Fish (Baten Kaitos,
ζ
Ceti, *26.6) would have
returned to visibility after the
close encounter with the Sun in
December 31. Polaris never sank
below the horizon and it was
therefore outside the cycles of
heliacal risings and settings.
|
Furthermore, according to the G tablet we
could also read how the Bird Man season
(late July to early August) might have
coincided with the right ascension line down from
the South Pole star, Dramasa (σ
Octantis), as seen close
to the Full Moon in August 5 (*320 - *183):
