Berlin Tablet (O, RR 22) This very big tablet had text on both sides, but one of these is so badly damaged as to make it unnecessary to even make a picture of it. And the other side is also in very poor shape. Picture (Barthel):
The number of lines were once upon a time probably 12 on the side illustrated by Barthel and 14 on the back side. 12 +14 = 26. The type of wood is unknown, but it seems that the tablet is originating from driftwood, because the text is incised on top of the weathered and cracked surface. The back side has deteriorated from the tablet having been in a damp environment like a cave. |
