Small Vienna Tablet (N, RR 23)

This tablet is unique in that the text has not been incised with a shark's tooth but with an utensil made of bone. Afterwards it seems to have been worked on with obsidian flakes to elaborate details.

The wood is Podocarpus latifolius.

Pictures (Barthel):

This tablet, together with Large Vienna Tablet (M, RR 24) and the Berlin Tablet (O, RR 22) were aquired by Alexander Salmon on Rapa Nui in 1882. (Fischer)
