No, there is no reason to regard 'vaha mea ika hiku' as a combination of vaha mea with ika hiku. Next page (of 'comments'):
In G we have to move 43 glyphs (days) ahead beyond Hanga Te Pau (366) in order to reach Rogo (409). Twice 43 = 86 and in Q we can therefore walk 86 steps in the other direction, from *Qb5-17 (591) in order to search for Hanga Te Pau. There is a haga rave glyph at Qb3-9, and a honu (with legs) close by:
8 days (from Qb3-1 up to and including glyph number 500) end with day number 314. The legs of honu and the pair of ariga erua glyphs with 'eyes' indicate these 8 days are 'alive' (not 'in the dark'). But the pair of mauga at the end says the light now is hidden. And then an autumn type of vaha mea immediately opens up a new season. The following 45 days are equal in number with those 45 we found defined by Rogo glyphs in G:
A similarity in structure between the 'front' and 'back' sides is not surprising. The enigmatic reversed ua at Qb3-21 maybe now can be understood. What happens in these intercalendary 45 days? In G the planets arrive beyond Hanga Te Pau, and Venus is the beginning of a new cycle. Light cannot be absent forever. |
