The equation 584 = 314 + 270, where 270 = 262 + 8 (we have guessed), and where then 262 is further divided into 222 + 40 (= 472 - 432), allots to the H text 222 days were G has 262:
It is curious, therefore, to find 222 as the number of Ha5-6:
Once again, such numerical coincidences do not give evidence of subject (i.e. evening star), only of a common structure in the minds of the rongorongo creators. 222 can be read as 2 + 2 + 2 = 6, or as 2 * 2 * 2 = 8, both numbers signifying that a cycle is completed. In G we have 222 = 86 + 136:
And, we should remember, Gb6-23 (the glyph which is number 39 of those black 40) is 243 glyphs beyond rau hei in Ga6-22:
If we compare the quartet of these creatures, we can notice the following:
The feathers in the first pair adds up to 5 * 5 = 25, while in the second pair more feathers are added at bottom right in order to reach 30. We can guess 30 refers to the sun, and - possibly - 25 to Venus. The 'eye hole' comes close to the opening in the 'beak' in the 'younger' ones (redmarked) than in the older ones. In the older ones the hole has advanced towards the back side. Time moves towards the left. We understand why it must be Gb6-23 (and not Gb6-24) which comes where otherwise normally there are tao glyphs, it must be a young one:
These 4 curious creature are examples of a very rare glyph type (mea), and in H they appear as a pair in Monday. Presumably, therefore, they in Gb6-21--24 also refer to the moon, and if so, we understand why they are 4 in number, viz. moon time is measured as 59 = 4 half months. The redmarked young ones could be waxing moon and the old ones the waning moon:
If so, then also Ga6-22 ought to represent the moon. Maybe the reason why rau hei in Ga6-22 is fat is because moon is twins, with another head represented in the midsection. |
