I have no more pages from the dictionary to show for the moment. We need time for reflections.

With a suggested connection between sun and moon via the night Ohua at Ca7-14, we can confirm it by counting glyphs from Ca6-17, the first glyph of the moon calendar. The ordinal number is 26:

3rd period
Ca7-8 Ca7-9 Ca7-10 Ca7-11 Ca7-12
Ca7-13 Ca7-14 (26) Ca7-15 Ca7-16
Maharu Ohua Otua

But the 26th kuhane station is the last of the ruling king. Could it be the old one who is hanging at left? Yes, it can. Counting from Ca1-1 the number is 182 = 7 * 26. If there are 2 glyphs in a day, Ca7-14 becomes day number 91 = 7 * 13.

91 could be a number connected with hua glyphs. Gb8-3 is located at 91 days counted from Gb5-1, it has been stated in a page at rima:

'Fist' signs have a shape somewhat similar to what we can see in the hua ('fruit' etc) glyphs:

hua Ca7-14 Gb8-3

The main difference is that the 'fruits' are hanging down heavily, they are ripe, while the 'fists' evidently represent a much earlier stage, they are like buds. Gb8-3 (the only hua sign in the neigbourhood) comes after the 3rd and last of the kava glyphs:

19 2
Gb5-1 Gb5-21 Gb5-22 Gb5-25
6 13
Gb6-3 Gb6-17 Gb6-18 Gb6-19
39 2 26
Gb7-31 Gb8-3 Gb8-30

5 + 5 'feathers' on hua in Gb8-3 suggest the 10 periods of the sun. Presumably the new year sun is ripe. The ordinal number of Gb8-3 counted from Gb5-1 is 91, as if to indicate that the 4th quarter is ending. 8 * 3 = 24.

Gb5-1 is number 125 counted from Gb1-1, which means that Gb8-3 will be number 125 + 91 = 216 from Gb1-1, a number we recognize. It may be part of a 400-day long cycle, because 182 (the front side) + 216 = 398.

Gb8-1 Gb8-2 Gb8-3 (216) Gb8-4 Gb8-5
396 397 398 399 400

125 is the cube of Saturn, I presume. Fire, fire, fire. That is needed at the end when the old fire is burning out. The green 216th glyph counted from the beginning of the back side is suitable for a hua sign and Venus.

When full moon is reached, the sun is at his lowest (Ca7-12). Beyond that point in the cycle there should be a new one. The 3 feathers at left in hua are placed higher than those 3 at right. Waxing is at left and waning at right. All 6 feathers emerge from the sun, while moon has a lower position in form of the crescent-tail of the rising sun fish.

Maybe sun arrives at Ca1-1, in which case it could be spring equinox, and a quarter later comes Ohua, the night when Moon (and Saturn) takes over from the sun. It is summer solstice, and sun must leave.

The fish is going up (in Ca7-14) and it is a rising sun, it should be the son of the moon. When the sun fish is rising in the east, the waxing moon will move in the other direction - become waning. Here the opposite seems to be the case, because full moon lies in front. Moon is waxing, therefore sun should leave. The hua sign is reversed.

The crescent-tail is where we should start reading the glyph, and then move upwards. A maximum for the path of the sun fish is reached and then a downwards slope is ending abruptly where growing moon takes over. The whole story is compressed into this one glyph.

Maybe the part from midsummer to the fall is without feathers. And then there is a short 'quarter' at the beginning which also has no feathers. The rising sun fish is in the past from midsummer. The tail could be a sign of reversal, at the bottom of the fish the opening is at left.

The suggestion of hua as the opposite of the fist sign is valuable, it means hua basically is a moon sign. Moon has twice 4 quarters, and the hua quarter is defined as 7 * 13. In Mamari it could be 8 * 91 = 728 glyphs (= 364 days). 7 and 28, or in days 7 and 14 (as in Ca7-14). It is easy to juggle the numbers and convert 13 to 14.

At Gb3-26 the last station of the ruling king is expressed by a 'hua' rising at right:

12th week
Gb3-17 Gb3-18 Gb3-19 Gb3-20 Gb3-21 Gb3-22 Gb3-23 (314)
13th week
Gb3-24 Gb3-25 Gb3-26 Gb3-27 Gb3-28 Gb3-29 Gb3-30

The numbers of the weeks (counted from the beginning of side b) suggests the topic is the end of the path of the sun. 230 + 84 = 314. Sun leaves after 300 days and then there are 12 weeks without feathers.

In Gb3-23 (at Jupiter) where the rule of the king is broken (hatiga), the hua part has a little dot as if to indicate where the neck is broken. It alludes to rau hei. The head part has 2 + 2 = 4 feathers, 1 for each quarter. The feather which is prolonged inside by the little dot is special, it seems. It could be a 5th feather to be added to those 4 around the head. If so, then there are 4 + 4 = 8 higher up. It could mean the moon is higher up than the sun.

These two hua are hanging on different sides (sun fish at left and moon 'fish' at right):

Ca7-14 (26) Gb3-23 (314)
Mars Jupiter

Mars is the spring planet, Jupiter the autumn planet (aspects of the Sun).

If we at Gb3-23 change the base from which to count, from the beginning of the line to number 300, Mars will recide also here. And then we would have the following colours:

12th week
Gb3-17 (308) Gb3-18 Gb3-19 Gb3-20 Gb3-21 Gb3-22 Gb3-23 (314)
13th week
Gb3-24 (315) Gb3-25 Gb3-26 Gb3-27 Gb3-28 Gb3-29 Gb3-30 (321)

It does not give better results.

Sun moves from left to right, it seems, and the end station comes with a moon 'fruit' hanging in front (at Gb3-23). Moon must move in the other direction, from right to left, and here from bottom up because the phase is waxing. Is the 'fruit' generating an arm?

These directions of sun and moon are those which can be observed by looking north from a point south of the equator.

In Gb3-23 the left arm held upwards is formed to allude to a moon crescent, a waxing crescent. Then, from a sudden drop at 'noon' the thumb becomes a moon fruit. On the back side of sun's ascending path it goes straight down and moon comes alive. As read by the sun. Probably we should never try to read rongorongo texts by the moon.

Also this glyph tells it all. If we believe what it says, then moon time must run from right to left in Ca7-14. The sudden drop comes at the end of the sun path. In Ca7-14 there are two elements, not only one as in Gb3-23. In Ca7-14 we must see son and mother (although, of course we should say mother and sun - tell the story in the 'right' order rather in the right order).

There are 2 fishes rising in the 12th week (Gb3-20 and Gb3-22):

12th week
Gb3-17 Gb3-18 Gb3-19 Gb3-20 Gb3-21 (312) Gb3-22 Gb3-23 (314)

Manu rere is the vital spirit, and here we can see the 2 faces of the moon lifting, waxing (Moon) and waning (Mercury). Mars at 312 as in 3 * 12 = 360, has an uncomfortable position. Counting 3 * 21 = 63 is not better.

Obeying the numbers we ought to look at Ga7-14 (at Mars):

Ga7-1 Ga7-2 Ga7-3 Ga7-4 Ga7-5 Ga7-6 Ga7-7
Ga7-8 Ga7-9 Ga7-10 Ga7-11 Ga7-12 Ga7-13 Ga7-14
Ga7-15 Ga7-16 Ga7-17 Ga7-18 Ga7-19 Ga7-20 Ga7-21
Ga7-22 Ga7-23 Ga7-24 Ga7-25 Ga7-26 Ga7-27 Ga7-28
Ga7-29 Ga7-30 Ga7-31 Ga7-32 Ga7-33 Ga7-34 Ga8-1

The story of Mars in line Ga7 ends after 4 weeks, at hau tea in Ga7-28. The broad path of the sun is at left and the apex will come before the vertical measure line:

Ga7-28 Gb3-21

The sky roof apex is drawn steeper to the right and continues to form what could be a sign for the beginning of the moon season. Sun has the vertical dimension, moon the horizontal. Instead of an apex we have a horizontal 'apex' for the moon.

I will add a new colour for Mars:

Ga3-10 Ga4-5 Ga4-7 Ga6-21 Ga7-28 Gb3-21
Gb4-1 (Mercury) Gb4-25 Gb4-29 Gb4-33 Gb5-1 (Mercury) Gb5-21
Gb7-2 (Jupiter) Gb7-4 Gb7-14

6 out of my 15 hau tea glyphs in G are Mars glyphs. Sun at Ga4-5 has Mars two glyphs later. 4 * 5 = 20 and 4 * 7 = 28, sun respectively moon.

Sun at Gb4-33 is abruptly cut off by Mercury who in the following glyph reverses the sign. In Gb4-1 the Mercury reversal also comes at the beginning of a new glyph line:

Gb3-24 Gb3-25 Gb3-26 Gb3-27 Gb3-28 Gb3-29 Gb3-30
Gb4-1 Gb4-2 Gb4-3 Gb4-4 Gb4-5 Gb4-6 Gb4-7
Gb4-8 Gb4-9 Gb4-10 Gb4-11 Gb4-12 Gb4-13 Gb4-14
Gb4-15 Gb4-16 Gb4-17 Gb4-18 Gb4-19 Gb4-20 Gb4-21
Gb4-22 Gb4-23 Gb4-24 Gb4-25 Gb4-26 Gb4-27 Gb4-28
Gb4-29 Gb4-30 Gb4-31 Gb4-32 Gb4-33

Once again Mars receives only 4 positions in the line. It could mean that Mars represents the reflections of the sun rays on the face of the Moon. Mars itself is red in his face from the rays of the sun.

Vai in Gb3-25 is in Saturday, but vai in Gb4-2 is in Thursday. At the beginning of a line Jupiter has the vai sign, at the end Saturn. In Gb4-30 (at Jupiter) there is a strange hua. But the upper part of hua is like that in Ca7-14:

Ca7-14 (26) Gb3-23 (314) Gb4-30 (351) Ka3-14 (60)
Mars Jupiter Jupiter Mars

The moon crescent at left in Gb4-30 has the same type of sign as at left in Ka3-14. The stem above the hua in Gb4-30 is curved. The curve sign presumably means 'close to the end' (as when the kuhane made a curve).

There are two elements in Gb4-30, and the one at left could be a type of sun canoe, while the right part alludes to the moon (curved stem and 3 + 2 + 3 = 8 feathers). The glyph should be read clockwise from right to left, I think. Maybe texts always must be read by the sun and maybe signs can be allowed to follow the moon.

The longer left side of hua (now in the past) resembles the long front side of the sun, with 2 added 'feathers' beyond a triplet of double months in spring (reading top down and counterclockwise). The structure also resembles the division into periods in the Mamari moon calendar:

waxing full moon waning
period 1 8 period 4 8 period 6 7
period 2 11 full moon period 7 11
period 3 9 period 5 10 period 8 8
sum 28 sun 18 sum 26
