Although 306 at Gb3-15 suggests we should start counting from Ga1-1 (instead of from Gb8-30) to reach agreement with 305 for Aa8-25, and although Gb3-5 would be 295 after such an operation (cfr below) - agreeing much better with Aa8-4--5 - we could equally well change one step in A. Let us therefore, at least for the moment, continue with the earlier Gb8-30 respectively Aa1-1 as points of departure for the kuhane journey. The uncertainty should, however, make us include both the beginning and end glyphs of each kuhane station:
Adding Te Pei and Te Pou:
Suppose the pattern 29, 30, 29, 30, 29 ... is wrong. Maybe all the stations should have 29 glyphs (respectively 58). The new model would not change anything in Te Pei, but Te Pou would be:
Gb3-3 is moved to Hua Reva and Aa7-85 together with Aa8-1 are better end glyphs than Aa8-2--3. Both these changes feel good. But we must study the effects on Hua Reva:
Beginning with Te Pei we now have 29, 29, 30 (Hua Reva). The number of days in our own calendar does not follow any obvious pattern as regards the number of days in a month, why should it be different in rongorongo? Though in addition to the special February (a month which is 'cut short') we must remember how July and August both are alotted 31 days. Another cardinal point may once have been located between these two months. From the beginning of March to the beginning of August there are 5 months - as if alluding to the 'fire' ruling in the sky, or as if a memory of a system which once had 10 months. Let us try to adjust Akahanga from 30 to 29 days:
The rising fish in Gb4-31 is no bad choice for an end glyph of Akahanga. And it would harmonize with the end glyph of Hatinga Te Kohe:
Here we can notice an interesting phenomenon: Ab1-35 is similar (or identical with) Ab1-40, while Aa8-2 obviously indicates a reversal in Aa8-7:
It is as if these flanking glyphs are there to put focus on the central glyphs which carry the fundamental meaning (vai respectively hatinga). Both Hua Reva and Hatinga Te Kohe has now 30 glyphs, after my rearrangements. Possibly the 'death' of the sun respectively the break in the calendar necessitates additional glyphs:
Or is there a pattern with 30, 29, 30, 29, 30 ... Let us look at Te Pei again:
