This piece of wood initially had perhaps 73 glyphs on its two sides (41 + 32), a guess based on the number magic used in other rongorongo texts.

Although the glyphs are incised rather crudely (or perhaps they are so damaged as to give that impression), clearly the text is true to the conventions of rongorongo writing.
