These are the gagana glyphs I once collected from G:

Ga1-11 Ga1-18 Ga1-26
Gb2-14 Gb2-21 Gb6-14 Gb6-16 Gb7-18 Gb8-7

We can immediately see the connection between Ga1-18 and Gb7-18, not only by their looks but also by their numbers (-18).

Ga1-18, we have noted, comes 4 days before a tao glyph which in turn comes 4 days before Ga1-26, a glyph of obvious importance which I have classified as gagana, but which could well be its opposite in meaning:

Ga1-17 Ga1-18 Ga1-19 Ga1-20 Ga1-21
Ga1-22 Ga1-23 Ga1-24 Ga1-25 Ga1-26

The 'eyes' in Ga1-26 are both outside and in place, while in Ga1-18 the left mata (from us seen) is inside and cannot be seen. There is a hole where the right mata should have been. 'Viri' at bottom in Ga1-18 shadows while 'viri' in Ga1-26 is open for the incoming light.

Ga1-26 marks day 64 + 27 = 91 counted from winter solstice. The location of the text segment above is spring equinox. Maybe gagana in Ga1-18 refers to the first of 8 dark days before the 'morning light' (spring sun) returns. The hole at right could be representing this 8-day long 'dark' period, alluding to the 8 days when Venus has disappeared before she comes back again as morning star.

With summer solstice at the beginning of the 'back side' in G and winter solstice some 180 days later, the front side will have no standing still sun:

178
Ga8-24 Ga8-25 (229) Gb6-25 Gb6-26 (409)
day zero 180 day 1
178
Gb1-2 Gb1-3 (233) Gb7-1 Gb7-2 Gb7-3 (414)
180 zero days day 1

Counted by the moon there is half a year from Rogo in Gb1-3 to Rogo in Gb6-26:

174 = 6 * 29
Gb1-2 Gb1-3 (233) Gb6-25 Gb6-26 (409)
177 = 6 * 29.5 day 1

471 - 177 = 294 = 10 * 29.5 - 1. Sun will 'live' for 10 months minus 1 day.

Maui has prolonged the life of the sun to be more than half of the total cycle.

Rogo in Gb3-15 must not be forgotten:

Gb3-12 Gb3-13 Gb3-14 Gb3-15 (306) Gb3-16

The location is number 76 counted from Gb1-1:

71
Gb1-3 (233) Gb3-14 Gb3-15 (306)
72 = 4 * 18 zero day 1

With 360 = 20 * 18, we can subtract 4 * 18 and then 16 * 18 remains. Maybe 288 (= 36 * 8) is a truer map of how long sun lives.

The 8-land, the land of the gods, cannot stretch out sun's life longer than to 8 months. Maui stretched out the life of sun from 6 to 8 months, and this could explain why Te Pei (Gagana) has such an importance.

226
Gb8-30 Ga8-24 Ga8-25 (229)
228 zero

From this follows that those 64 days from winter solstice to the beginning of the front side of the text in G is nothing the gods will take part in. For them life of sun begins with Gb8-30 (where 8 * 30 = 240 as in Ga8-24).

Ga1-26 (27) looks as if it should be connected with Gb1-6 (236):

208
Ga1-26 Gb1-6 (236) Gb1-7
210 = 14 * 15 day 1

But that may not be the case. Instead we perhaps should let Ga1-26 connect to Ga8-24:

200
Ga1-26 (27) Ga8-24 (228)
zero zero

There are 200 days of spring sun beyond those 91 nights from winter solstice. Another 4 nights are needed to reach 295:

63 26 200
Gb6-26 Ga1-26 Ga8-24 Ga8-25 Ga8-26 Gb1-1 (295)
91 4

471 - 177 = 294 = 10 * 29.5 - 1. Sun will 'live' for 10 months minus 1 day. 204 = 12 * 17 (to be compared with 17 * 7 in 177). 200 is half 400 = 8 * 50.
