Keiti (E, RR
6) This is one of the four tablets which Bishop Jaussen on Tahiti showed Metoro Tau'a Ure and let him read for him. The wood of the tablet is unknown. The tablet no longer exists. It was destroyed in 1914 in the war between France and Germany. Pictures (Barthel):
One of the sides has 9 rows, the other 8. It is interesting to compare Keiti with Aruku Kurenga: Both tablets have one row ending not at the edge (as usual) but a bit in from the edge. In both cases this special row is located as no. 3 (though on side a of Keiti whereas on Aruku Kurenga it is located on side b). The name Keiti perhaps is derived from ké iti = 'the small one'.
