After the excursion to calendar I we are now back on the trail labelled 'shown to be true' - referring to the reversed vaha kai in Yc1-3 and probably meaning 'head in the east' ('birth'):
6 times 10 = 60 nights before 'noon' seem to balance the 40 day and nights beyond:
The empty shell of the turtle (pure at 100) indicates the end of the 'water'. Then a Rei kicks into action ('That he might cease remaining inactive') a chain of events leading up to midsummer and beyond. And the structure above shows that 175 is the center. 2 * 175 = 350 is a measure equal to a quarter of 1400, i.e. the Moon dictates the center. The first quarter of a 'year' is half 180 = 90 nights and we can recognize the 'barred sun light' symbol of the Mayas:
Kai+ragi in Ya1-2 (80) seem to be balanced by a single entity in Yb2-7:
At left in Yb2-7 there is a suggestion of waxing limited by a straight vertical line - ragi limits waxing. 295 means the end of 10 lunar months (for the Sun). Taken together with the surrounding glyphs we will have a short representation of the year:
These 20 days (or nights) are outside the 280 when moon is shining. They cover the time beyond 180 + 60 of light and the 40 of Saturn's darkness. Once again there is a vai glyph with 3 'crescent signs', but this time with a reversal:
285 - 100 = 185, the summer half of the year. At the end of his nighttime journey the sun possibly does not return to us but to his winter maid, and in the Underworld a similar situation may prevail:
The end of the back side is the time when Sun is in Hiva. Then in Ya1-1 there is a new beginning and the 3 unusual signs may refer to the 3 'stones' of the Turtle. Light is generated here and growing at a slow pace while the sky is brightening (Ya1-2), but there are no toes yet (fins are better than feet until land reappears). The 3 stones are also equal to those Nga Kope Ririva rocks outside the southwest corner of Easter Island. This is were the first manu tara eggs are important. But we must not forget the fat kiore glyphs, the open 'midnight' henua at left in Ya2-5, etc. It is not a season of waxing. I decide to add a page with at least some of the above discussion: ... His time there ought also to be 300 (though not days but nights). The the total cycle becomes 10 * 60 = 600. Half his time he is in Hiva, half with us who are living. Part of is time Sun is in Hiva, and then he will also spend part of his time with his winter maid. We need an overview. |
