Probably, the 'absent Monkey' season is the 'season of Macaw':
I have arranged the 'flaring top' months (Tzek and Pax) as the beginning and end of 'Monkey'. Therefore Vayeb will not be in the center of 'Macaw'. If I put Vayeb in the center, Zotz will be put at the beginning of 'Monkey' and Pax be put at the beginning of 'Macaw', also a possible solution: In Kayab the 'beak' is closing, in Zotz the mouth is opening up, signs of the 'flaring top' closing (Pax) respectively opening (Tzek). Definitely dark are only 5 months, and maybe only they constitute the 'Macaw' season:
That would leave 365 - 85 = 280 nights, or 14 months to what probably amounts to the moon (which anciently regulated the calendar for the year). There are 17 dots around the eye of the macaw (and 85 = 5 * 17):
The 'tounge' is like a midnight henua, I guess, dividing the time-space in the beak in 3, the same as the number of black dots in the Pax month glyph and also at the back (tu'a) of the Monkey head:
This suggests the non-sun season is 365 - 200 = 165 (= 55 + 55 + 55) days long - because it begins with Pax and for symmetry reasons then should end with Tzek. |
