The supposed emergence of a new year at Ga1-26 is in harmony with the earlier arriving glyphs where the old year seems to be making his exit:

Ga1-17 Ga1-18 Ga1-19 Ga1-20 Ga1-21 Ga1-22 Ga1-23
Ga1-24 Ga1-25 Ga1-26 Ga1-27 Ga1-28 Ga1-29 Ga1-30

Ga1-21 we remember from the tara part of the glyph dictionary:

Eb7-36 Eb7-37 Eb7-38 Ga1-19 Ga1-20 Ga1-21

... The standard tara glyph type - without extra signs in form of 'toes', 'deformities' etc - stands at winter solstice and means 'point of return' ...

Ga1-29, immediately before the 1st Rei in the text, is showing a 'ghost' - presumably the old year. The ordinal number (29) says it is in the pitch black phase.

In K we found a pattern with viri glyphs on one side and Rei on the other side:

Ka2-5, the last viri (and 29th glyph on side a), is followed by the first Rei 5 glyphs later:

In G the corresponding viri is Ga1-26 (the 26th glyph on side a), followed by the first Rei 4 glyphs later. 365 - 360 = 5 and 364 - 360 = 4. Ka2-9 is no ghost, but the ordinal number (9) corresponds to the ordinal number of the 'ghost' (29) - 9 for the sun and 29 for the moon. In K these glyphs seem to tell about the rebirth of the sun and in G about the rebirth of the moon.

Maybe this explains why instead of tara a special marama with a point is used in Ga1-19. Ga1-26 possibly also alludes to the moon. While both numbers (19 and 26) tell about the sun. In Ea2-17 and Pa6-29 ordinal number 17 tells about the passed away growing moon phase and 29 about the passed away fading moon phase. Ga1-18 looks much like an inverted Pa6-29. Only one eye is left:

Ea2-17 Pa6-29 Ga1-18

Are there any Rei glyphs among the 145 beyond viri in Pb9-21? And is there in G a pattern with viri on one side and Rei on the other? The first question should be easy to answer. However, we immediately walk into the problem of the missing Rei in Saturday:

Hb9-51 Hb9-52 Hb9-53 Hb9-54 Hb9-55 Hb9-56 Hb9-57 Hb9-58
Pb10-55 Pb10-56 Pb11-101 Pb11-102 Pb11-103 Pb11-104 Pb11-105
*Pb11-1 *Pb11-2 *Pb11-3 *Pb11-4 *Pb11-5

The number of glyphs in line Pb11 surely must be *60. Therefore there cannot be any glyph between Pb10-56 and Pb11-101, nor any between Pb11-105 and Pb11-201. In H are Rei in Hb9-56 and manu rere in Hb9-58, and neither of these glyph types are found in Saturday according to P. On the other hand, Pb11-01 (a spooky henua with concave side to the right, indicating sun at left) has no parallel in H.

Either the explanation is that Rei is missing in Saturday according to P because it would have disturbed the 145-glyph pitch black season or it is inserted as an extra not necessary glyph in Saturday according to H because it was needed to deliver a message about a new season (next week) generated in the last day of the old week.

Near the end of the P text there anyhow appear two Rei glyphs:

Pb11-239 Pb11-240 Pb11-241 Pb11-242 Pb11-243 Pb11-244
*Pb11-44 *Pb11-45 *Pb11-46 *Pb11-47 *Pb11-48 *Pb11-49
Pb11-245 Pb11-246 Pb11-247 Pb11-248 Pb11-249 Pb11-250
*Pb11-50 *Pb11-51 *Pb11-52 *Pb11-53 *Pb11-54 *Pb11-55
Pb11-251 Pb11-252 Pb11-253 Pb11-254 Pb11-255
*Pb11-56 *Pb11-57 *Pb11-58 *Pb11-59 *Pb11-60

The two Rei glyphs define a 12-glyph long measure:

1011 11 120 10
Pa1-1 Pb9-21 Pb9-33 *Pb11-48 *Pb11-59 *Pb11-60
1 1013 1025 1146 1157 1158

145 - 13 = 132 = 12 * 11 is the distance beyond Pb9-21 up to (but not including) *Pb11-48. Counted from Pb9-33 it is 132 - 12 = 120, a more significant measure. Counted to the 2nd Rei the distances are 132 - 11 = 121 (= 11 * 11) respectively 120 - 11 = 109 (a prime number). 1146 = 6 * 191 and 1157 = 13 * 89. The Rei glyphs in P have not given us any remarkable results earlier and we should not expect to find them here - numerical relations between viri and Rei seem unnatural: dark and light do not mix with good results.
