The calendar in K is
evidently very complicated. In the glyph dictionary the
hyperlink from 'waxing and waning' therefore ends with a pair of
pages summarizing what has been said:
The discovery of
the quartet (the group of periods 20-23) makes it reasonable to
relocate, in the calendar of K, period 20 from its earlier position
as the last period in a triplet to a first position in a quartet. Similarly - for symmetry's sake -
we relocate period 13 to a quartet - from the first position in a
triplet to the last in a preceding quartet:

As an
additional adjustment I have separated period 'zero' from period
32 and inserted it at its proper place - at the beginning, where
new light is created. I have also reduced the
number of glyphs in
period 0 from 7
to 2, resulting in a calendar with *120 glyphs.
Furthermore,
period 29 is in a way beyond the regular structure,
twice 52 = 104, and in the 29th night the moon is invisible.
The subtotals in the table above
(24, 30 etc) are, though, in no way more than thought provoking sums. The messages in
the glyph pictures must govern, not the numbers. The table is therefore just an
illustration on the way to a true picture.

To make it all
more clear a new table is needed:

The 3 quartets
mentioned here presumably should be harder integrated:

Ka3-12 |
Firstly: Ka3-8 is a
glyph type (ihe tau) which appears at left in Ka3-12 (toga),
and Ka3-4 obviously is a kind of mirror image of Ka3-12 (also a variant
of toga).
Toga
means south and may mean the end of the 2nd half of the year, at
winter solstice (which would harmonize with the downward fish
and with my idea of pure meaning end = beginning). Birds
(manu rere) do not appear in the 1st group of the
quartet.
The
special toga in Ka3-4 presumably is reflecting mauga
in the tail of mago (at right in Ka3-2). Ihe tau in
Ka3-8 reflects the one in Ka3-6, and - I guess - the upward fish
at left (past) in Ka3-10 maybe is implied in the hand gesture in
Ka3-12. Remember Aa1-30 (immediately before the 'death' of the
sun in daytime):
Secondly: The
structure with 6 toga glyphs at the end of line a2 seems
to be prolonged in the beginning of line a3:

The
hand gestures (redmarked) indicate a similarity between period 1
and period 7 (which would be understandable if we regard the
whole structure as being divided in two halves).
Thirdly: There is
another inwards (or upwards) hand-with-thumb gesture in period 8
(immediately before summer solstice):
8 |
|
|
Ka5-2 |
Ka5-3 |
The
sign presumably is used when sun stands highest. Later on the
hand is reversed, now pointing forward (as for instance in
Ka2-15), a prelude to sun's 'vanishing'. Hand-with-thumb signs
of this type appear in period 18, 22, 23 and 29:

Kb4-13 maybe is a kind

The pure sign
seems to mean 'beyond the living stage', the time when sun has
stopped. Only the shell halves are still left.
