Now I feel I can write one page more in the glyph dictionary:

There is one more place in which the Hanga Te Pau constellation appears:
Gb5-12 Ha6-130

Here, however, there is a reversal. The haga rave sign is at right instead of at left and the pau leg at left instead of at right. An additional sign of reversal is the 'string of feathers', which is upside down compared with their normal fashion of hanging down. Time has moved beyond Hanga Te Pau, the signs of reversal means.

Hanga Te Pau is not only the landing place of Ira and his explorers, it is first of all a location in time. Counting from the beginning of the G text we find Gb5-12 to be the 365th glyph, a very clear sign of how the old year has 'gone dry' (stopped growing):

Gb5-12 Gb5-13 Gb5-14 Gb5-15 Gb5-16
365 1 2 3 4

Beyond comes a new season 'down in the dark water' (which explains the fishes), extending during 2 * 53 = 106 glyphs according to the G calendar. 53 is one more than 52 (weeks in a year) and therefore corresponds to 29 (one more than 28 shining moon nights in a month).

In a way the season beyond Gb5-12 corresponds to Saturday, the dark day of the week. There are only 6 days for the sun in the calendar of the week:

Hb9-51 Hb9-52

53 again. It was the difference between 314 and 261, I remember. There must be twice 53, not 106, because that is the quality of π. I cannot for the moment remember how modern mathematics define π, but it is a fundamental unit, and it would be 'ugly' to say that the circumference of a circle is measured by taking 6.28 times its radius.

The creator of G knew he had to divide the 471 - 365 = 106 glyphs in the dark season in two equal parts:

51 51
Gb5-12 Gb5-13 Gb7-8 Gb7-9 Gb8-30
365 1 53 54 106

The 'imprisoned' sun twin is released at the end of the first 53 glyphs. Probably the two 53-groups of glyphs represent the 'nuts' of the two half-years soon to commence, one at Ga1-1 and the other at midsummer.

By the way, a synodic month is 29.53 days long. And fishes arrive at Hb9-53:

Hb9-51 Hb9-52 Hb9-53

Pa10-1, the ghostly pare, is located immediately beyond 10 * 53 glyphs from the beginning of the text, and initiating a sequence of glyphs 200π long:

114 415 627
Pa3-3 Pa10-1
115 531
416 = 16 * 26 200π
1044 = 29 * 36
1000π - 90 * 29 200π
1200π - 90 * 29

In Tahua there are 53 glyphs beyond kava in Aa8-31:

3 53 520 752
Aa8-30 Aa8-31 Aa8-85 Ab1-1 Ab7-26 Aa8-26
2 * 29 522 = 18 * 29 754 = 26 * 29

14 * 53 measures in P the dark season, contrasting in a beautiful way with the 8 * 82 glyphs of the light season:

493

247

415

Pa10-1

Pb9-33

Pa3-3

531

1025

115

742 = 14 * 53

416 = 8 * 52

26 * 19 1 13 * 19

416 = 16 * 26

More recently, we have identified a grand structure on side b of B:

230 106 56 25 84
Bb3-33 Bb9-16 Bb11-31 Bb11-32 Bb1-26
111 342 449 450 26
8 * 29 = 232 58 = 2 * 29.5 26
338 = 13 * 26 168 = 6 * 28
506

On the road to this, we must not forget, 53 * 10 + 1 once again was discovered (although the clue has not been followed up as yet). A kava sign stands at 531 counted from the beginning of side a:

230 694
Bb3-33 Bb9-16 Bb3-32
532 = 19 * 28 763 = 7 * 109 531 = 10 * 53 + 1

There is a great and complicated system of sorts in the rongorongo texts. We will slowly come to understand more and more. Every piece of evidence we find must be taken care of to the utmost. Let us also remind ourselves:

 ... 6 * 4 + 18 * 5 + 7 * 6 = 24 + 90 + 42 = 156 'feathers'. Probably these 156 'feather' signs are at least partly drawn in order to secure a correct reading of the G text. 521 (= 260 + 261) minus 156 = 365, a message that the year is the subject of the text (securing a correct reading by 56 being the reverse of 65).

It may also be a hint that the 261 glyphs in the dark area form a complete calendar. Or, alternatively, that glyphs which do not belong in the 31-period long calendar together form another complete calendar. All the 156 'feathers' are in the light area (between Ga1-26 and Gb1-6). 521 + 156 = 677 = 13 * 52 + 1 is a fact which alludes to 13 * 28 + 1 = 365 (because there are 52 weeks in a year) ...

... 521 = 260 + 261 and 471 = 235 + 236. Therefore the difference, 50, between 521 and 471 is divided equally between 260 - 235 and 261 - 236. Twice 5 * 5 = 50 = 5 * 10 point at fire (fingers and sun).

In this jungle of numerical relations 156 is a fact. It is also the difference between 13 * 52 + 1 and 13 * 40 + 1:

209

13 * 16 + 1

208

13 * 16

4 * 52

4 * 13 * 4

52 * 4

365

13 * 28 + 1

364

13 * 28

4 * 91

4 * 13 * 7

52 * 7

521

13 * 40 + 1

520

13 * 40

4 * 130

4 * 13 * 10

52 * 10

677

13 * 52 + 1

676

13 * 52

4 * 169

4 * 13 * 13

52 * 13

52 is evidently the nucleus (cfr the rightmost column), because the multiples of 52 advance 3 steps each time (13, 10, 7, 4, 1). 53 = 13 * 4  +  1. 52 * 16 = 832 and we must be on the lookout for 833 ...

We can add a new table, showing the key role of 7:

week

6 days

+ 1

= 7

 = 14 - 7

month

28 nights

+ 1

= 29

= 36 - 7

year

52 weeks

+ 1

= 53

= 60 - 7

Towards the end of the first 53 glyphs in the G text I found a good marker, which I must document:

50 51
Gb5-12 Gb5-13 Gb7-7 Gb7-8 Gb7-9 Gb8-30
365 1 52 53 54 106

We recognize the glyph type from B:

57 49 23 85
Bb3-35 Bb5-8 Bb6-18 Bb7-2 Bb9-5
