Once again. It has so far not been quite clear
how to read the glyphs - do they refer to stars
at the Sun, to the stars which culminate, to stars
close to the Full Moon, or to some other point
of reference?
In the C text we have now demonstrated that the
glyphs on side a of the tablet were in parallel
with the current dates according to the
Gregorian calendar and thus also in parallel
with the heliacal stars according to my assumed
epoch for the rongorongo texts. This epoch was in tune with
the epoch of Bharani / Zuben Elgenubi.
For instance, the current position of π Aurigae
(*89.4) was a reflection of its position at
*89.4 - *41.4 (current position of Bharani) =
*48.0 (= 48 days after 0h according to the epoch
of Bharani):
... According to a variety of
sources of the legend, the Argo was said
to have been planned or constructed with the
help of Athena. According to other
legends it contained in its prow a magical piece
of timber from the sacred forest of Dodona,
which could speak and render prophecies. Argo
Navis is the only one of the 48
constellations listed by the 2nd century
astronomer Ptolemy that is no longer
officially recognised as a constellation. It was
unwieldy due to its enormous size: were it still
considered a single constellation, it would be
the largest of all ...

The lapse of the

at 6 P.M., or about sunset; (2.) Pili,
between sunset and midnight; (3) Kau,
indicating midnight; (4.) Pilipuka,

The position of the first
rakau glyph in
the text (Ca4-13) might alternatively be
regarded as a reference to the star ζ Serpentis
(*272.4) = *231.0 (its position at the time of
Bharani) + *41.4 (the precession since then).
This star was at the Full Moon in June 18 and at
the Sun in December 18.
However, the creator of the C text has made it
quite clear that what counted was the line
between Capella (*78.4 = *37.0 + *41.4) and
Rigel.
... The mythic landscape was
an 'implex', by which term is meant a world of
implications. ... Fanciful, assuredly,
but neither the Milky Way nor the terrestrial
Ganges offered any basis for the imagery of a
river flowing to the four quarters of the earth
'for the purification of the three worlds'. One
cannot get away from the 'implex' and it is now
necessary to consider the tale of a new skeleton
map, alias skambha: the equinoctial colure had
shifted to a position where it ran through stars
of Auriga and through Rigel. Skambha, as we have
said, was the World Tree consisting mostly of
celestial coordinates, a kind of wildly
imaginative armillary sphere. It all had to
shift when one
coordinate shifted ...
Because this right ascension line was 11 days earlier than π Aurigae
- a direct
consequence of January 1 (366) being located 11 days
after the December solstice (355).
He made it clear by assigning all his
rakau
glyphs to be in parallel with the first day of new
cycles:
