I see no reason to upgrade the introduction to GD15 in my dictionary. But that part of GD15 which goes into the details (signs) I have reason to upgrade. The new text is reached by this hyperlink. The fact that Hb6-8 is composed of GD15 and GD79 makes me think of using this glyph as an example in that part of my catalogue which shows 'mixed glyphs'. However, I have already such an example there (Ea3-30), though a different type, a compound:
I think it is better to have a mixed glyph as an example than a compound (especially as I have used the label 'mixed glyphs' on the hyperlink, so I replace Ea3-30 with Hb6-18. My ambition is to have a table over mixed glyphs for all the GD, but so far I have used very little energy, time and effort to create this. Such tables over mixed glyphs will help the reader to distinguish between the different characteristics of glyphs, but I also expect that the absence of certain mixed glyphs will tell us something about the meanings of glyphs. Later these tables over mixed glyphs will also be used as 'index nets' for sorting mixed glyph types in my dictionary. The method with 'signs' is also needed of course, but that covers other ground. |
