As the next step in this
investigation we should of
course like to examine the
assumed connections between
'sitting shark', 'twins',
and 'toko te ragi' by
investigating the texts on
all the other rongorongo
tablets. For such
investigations to be
efficient, though, complete
sets of data are
needed, i.e. first of all
documentation of all glyphs
on all tablets, sorted
according to type (GD-no.)
and with easy access via
hyperlinks from my glyph
dictionary, and also
documentation of all the
rongorongo texts with
their glyphs labeled, with
parallel texts, with
comments and with
Metoro's words. We have
to wait a few years more for
that. Before we finish here though, I would like to point to the possibility that the calendar of the day has a hint as to the meaning of the 'twin' type of glyph. There - in the last period - the men-made fires (ahi-ahi) are written as if the men were twins:
Possibly we should read such double figures as indicating the end of henua. The first figure will then stand for the old henua and the next one for the new henua. That type of thinking is magical and the right way to think. Remember Janus? I think we need a table over Taku-rua as he is incarnated in Jupiter: The 'twins' in Thursday would, according to this, mark the end of the 'earth' henua, after which the henua 'down below' starts. Sun and Moon = Sky; Mars, Mercury and Jupiter = Earth; Venus and Saturn = Underworld. (S as in Sky = Snake; E as in Earth = Fingers of light; U as in Underworld = haga :)
