Ideas: 1. This type of glyph we can find also in the moon calendar in Mamari. There it is located in the last (8th) dark period of the moon: And presumably in the calendar of the year it is also located in the dark period. 2. According to Metoro this type of glyph is a turtle (honu). The turtle's shell is - I think - relevant. But also the (male?) member pointing straight down. My intuition tells me that the shell is the dome of the sky and that the penis (?) is an incarnation of Hunrakán, the one-legged hurricane. And possibly Hunrakán is lighting the new fire there in the dark.
