To the left we have an upside-down variant of the 'measurment staff' in Monday and Friday (in Keiti). In Monday and Friday the rule is given from the sky above, here the rule seems to come from the earth below. The message of the staff  is given by the Underworld.

If these thoughts are on the right track, then the staff without signs must be the variant with both short ends inwards bent. I have noticed that slashmarks across the staff never occurs when both short ends are inwards bent.

In the 8th period of the month there is a glyph (Ea3-15) with both short ends inwards bent. No message is conveyd and the staff is in its raw shape. However, I suspect that there anyhow is a message: this glyph is no. 73 in the calendar. (365 / 5 = 73, presumably a sign for Venus.)

In the 8th period of the month we also find a somewhat similar glyph (no. 82) to the one we study here:

The middle part seems to have a smooth short line at the bottom and Y at the top. Are we looking (right and left) at branches with leaves? Is the meaning of Eb2-5 that the Underworld is sending us leaves on the branches?

There is a similarity between these 'branches' and the Clara knife at the start of each day of the week. A sign of command and power to produce leaves?
