Ideas:

1. Jupiter is not occluded now and then like Mercury. It behaves more like Mars, voyaging all over the ecliptic. Though Jupiter is not as variable in temper (speed and light) as Mars, perhaps illustrated in the elbow adornment where both left and right part are seen more or less in extenso.

2. There is a Clara-knife in Jupiter's left hand, which also Venus and Saturn has. The forks (in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) cannot imply support of the sun by the inferior planets, because Mars is not inferior but Venus is. I therefore think a better idea than support of the sun is the opposite idea, i.e. receiving energy from the sun. The fork could be seen as an upwards oriented and open crotch.

3. But then this week should be regarded as an image of the year. The first half is ruled by the waxing sun with plenty of new life-giving light distributed from above and received by the thirsting creatures of the earth. The second half is ruled by the waning sun and it is the season of harvest, therefore the Clara-knife, the blade of a scythe.
