Traversing the dark waters the sun needs a ship. In spite of all the efforts to hide the knots between henua there will be times outside the limits of henua. Where there is no henua (i.e. darkness) the moon (woman) is in charge. The fact that Keiti has rei miro at the four cardinal points implies that there are knots located in those four places. The changes are apparent at these four locations. The Swedish word 'knut' refers to a part of a string which is the opposite of straight and this word also refers to a corner of a house (which as a rule has four straight sides). In English only the first-mentioned meaning exists (for the corresponding word 'knot'). The consequence of this is that there are four henua in a year. Double-months therefore should not count as henua, I think. However Keiti explains that there are two main henua, one for summer and one for winter. To investigate this dilemma further I have made an effort to document GD76. |
