9. If we compare ua with ao, the other ceremonial type of staff, the contrasts become obvious: The low sky of winter seems to be described in ua, in contrast to the high sky of summer in ao. One of my glyph types has been named hakaua, i.e. 'making rain' (as I am quite sure Metoro must have meant):
Sweet water was not easily aquired on Easter Island, the porous ground caused the rain to disappear quickly if not accumulated in some way.
