4. The picture used as a sign for the night of Hiro is probably that of a kind of black limpet (Chiton magnificus):

It is so black as to be practically impossible to discern properly. But it has chevron marks on its shell.

I have another species (Tonicella lineata) which is much nicer to look at:

Its head is at left and its tail at right. This animal invites us to count its glorious patterns, to use our eyes.
