2. If we compare hipu in Eb7-2 with my 'prototype', or normal example for the glyph type, we can see that hipu in Eb7-2 is reversed:

hipu Eb7-2
normal reversed

Our conclusion should be that the first 2 glyphs in our text evidently must form a kind of subgroup. And the 'water containing bottom' of Eb7-1 is similar to that of hipu we now clearly can perceive - another sign indicating that these 2 glyphs are to be 'read' as a pair:

Eb7-1 Eb7-2
Eb7-3 Eb7-4 Eb7-5 Eb7-6 Eb7-7 Eb7-8 Eb7-9
Eb7-10 Eb7-11 Eb7-12 Eb7-13 Eb7-14 Eb7-15 Eb7-16

Rongorongo texts do not use letters, they use signs, and such are easily misunderstood. Therefore there must be 'redundance' (more than one way to send a message in order to minimize the risk of misunderstanding).
