2. If we compare hipu in Eb7-2 with my 'prototype', or normal example for the glyph type, we can see that hipu in Eb7-2 is reversed:
Our conclusion should be that the first 2 glyphs in our text evidently must form a kind of subgroup. And the 'water containing bottom' of Eb7-1 is similar to that of hipu we now clearly can perceive - another sign indicating that these 2 glyphs are to be 'read' as a pair:
Rongorongo texts do not use letters, they use signs, and such are easily misunderstood. Therefore there must be 'redundance' (more than one way to send a message in order to minimize the risk of misunderstanding). |
